Exhibition Looking through the Eyes of Machines

Exhibition organized by Espacio Ankaria UCM, a platform created by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid and the Ankaria Foundation to promote the creation and research around graphic art among young artists, gathers today the work done by the fifteen students participating in the seminar given two years ago in Madrid by the British graphic artist Paul Laidler.

The exhibition opens on March 13, with an opening conference by Paul Laidler himself, and will remain open until the 21st of this month in the hall of the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid.

Laidler is currently considered one of the main innovators of graphic art, after incorporating the capabilities of new technologies into the creation process. Two years ago he shared his knowledge and experience in the field of graphics with fifteen new artists, mostly students of Fine Arts, in a creative workshop entitled “Looking through the eyes of machines.”

Paul Laidler is a researcher and senior professor in Printmaking and Illustration at the University of the West of England, Bristol (United Kingdom), and as a graphic artist his works have been given several international awards and distinctions. His pieces are part of the collections of important international institutions, such as The V & A, Tate Britain, School of the Art Institute Chicago, National Gallery of Australia Canberra, The Royal West of England Academy or The Print Center Philadelphia, among others.
