Universidad Camilo José Cela

Photo management and preservation is a new discipline in our country. The photographic heritage has long been reviled and it is now beginning to emerge initiatives that promote conservation and proper management. Recognizing this need, the Universidad Camilo José Cela, has signed a collaboration agreement with B19 Photography (reputable company with a “Master of Arts in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management” experience in both Spain and abroad), which allows us to offer Master’s Degree in photographic Preservation and Management, a specialization unique in Europe, which acquired the necessary training to manage a comprehensive way the photographic heritage, both in public and private institutions.
At present there is no training center in the European Union to offer this type of course. There is also no current comprehensive training proposal addressing the needs for managing files and photographic backgrounds. The growing interest of the photographic heritage institutions in recent years highlights the need for professionals with this profile.
